Texas Credit Union Cycling Team Raises Over $40k for Multiple Sclerosis

Houston, TX – May 21, 2024 – The Texas Credit Union Cycling Team, in partnership with First Community Credit Union, CU Alliance CUSO and multiple other Texas credit unions, announces their achievements in the recent Texas MS150 bike ride, benefiting Multiple Sclerosis (MS) research and support programs.

United by a shared passion for cycling and a commitment to community service, 37 riders joined forces for a noble cause during the Texas MS150 event on April 27th and 28th. Their collective dedication, amplified by the generous contributions of sponsors, friends, and family, culminated in an impressive fundraising total of $40,477.

Throughout the two-day event, participants collectively covered a remarkable distance of 5,000 miles, symbolizing their unwavering dedication to raising awareness and funds for MS research and support services.

“Our team members were proud to ride in the MS 150 as part of the Texas Credit Unions team.” Katie Rigby, EVP/CHRO, Executive Management at First Community Credit Union, and Cycling Team Captain stated, “Together, we achieved an increase in riders and funds raised in 2024. Our team of 37 riders raised an astounding $40K supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s vision of a world free of MS.” 

“We are thrilled to once again bring together Texas credit union cyclists to exceed our fundraising goal and to have made a tangible impact in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis,” said John Riley, EVP of CU Alliance, and Cycling Team Co-Captain. “Our team’s dedicated training, preparation and determination truly shone through, and we are immensely grateful to our sponsors and those who donated to MS along the way.”
